Our Coaching Philosophy

What is our philosophy? How do we implement it?

We base our nurse coaching philosophy on what we should: the evidence, the literature, the research. And we excel at what we do, including the use of mHealth technologies to optimize your health outcomes.

As medical professionals, we are constantly focusing on education. We read the literature, understand the science, learn best practices, and fuse them all together so that we implement evidence-based practices within our coaching philosophy. We guide our clients in a way that reflects the latest knowledge and evidence, striving to enhance health outcomes and quality of life for our clients.

The literature

We are constantly reading the current literature, from within the last five years, to match our practices with the standard of care

Best practices

We use quality evidence, such as clinical practice guidelines (CPGs), from nationally recognized associations to guide our coaching

Client-centric

Our nurse coaches embrace and encourage the wants, needs, and desires of our clients to create health plans customized to you

Why is mHealth so important?

And what is it, anyway?

Mobile health, or mHealth for short, is the use of technologies to enhance health. These can be apps, widgets, or similar computer technologies. At MyNurseCoaching.com, we use our understanding of health and health technologies to implement mHealth as a tool to help track health status, such as symptom or weight monitoring, augment educational sessions and knowledge growth, and more.

For example, we may use these tools to track a daily weight or track the severity of symptoms for heart failure clients to get an understanding if the condition is being well managed or if treatment changes may be beneficial. These technologies cannot be used in a vacuum; to maximize results, mHealth should be used by knowledgeable health professionals who can guide patients or clients on how to maximize their use and outcomes.

Evidence-based practice… is guided by a thoughtful integration of the best available scientific knowledge with clinical expertise. This approach allows the practitioner to critically assess research data, clinical guidelines, and other information resources in order to correctly identify the clinical problem, apply the most high-quality intervention, and re-evaluate the outcome for future improvement.
